In a time where local news media coverage seems to be disappearing, your contribution is more important than ever. While our in-depth articles are for supporting members only, we won’t put our core news content behind a paywall, because we believe access to news should be democratized, instead of access for only those who can afford it.
But keeping the lights on and taking the fight to local accountability takes resources. Your monthly subscription directly funds our public records requests, website hosting, and time spent analyzing local government and events so you don’t have to.
We are the only newsroom in Washington County with facts-first focus, locally owned, independent, while keeping our core news content free. Will you help us keep it that way?
Businesses and organizations interested in distributing candy and treats to attendees are encouraged to register for participation. The event is free for those wishing to set up a candy distribution station, with the requirement that each participating entity must supply their own table, chairs, and all necessary treats. Registration for this opportunity closes on Wednesday, October 14th, at 12:00 PM.
The evening’s festivities will include dedicated trick-or-treating hours from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Following the candy distribution, a costume contest will commence, featuring separate categories for children at 6:30 PM, adults at 6:45 PM, and group or family entries at 6:50 PM. Entertainment will be provided by DJ and MC Ryan Smetzer, and a bounce house will be available for children’s enjoyment. Downtown Hagerstown operates as a Maryland Main Street Community, with a stated mission to cultivate a downtown environment where both individuals and businesses can flourish.
