HAGERSTOWN, MD – A new mental health provider, Advanced Behavioral Health (ABH), has officially opened its doors in Hagerstown, Maryland, at 265 Mill Street, Suite 800. This expansion into Washington County aims to address a growing demand for accessible, high-quality behavioral health services in the region. The organization’s decision to establish a presence here was finalized in late 2024.
ABH, a family-centered provider specializing in outpatient care for children and adults, was founded in 2011. Under the daily leadership of Dr. Vera Kurdian, LCSW-C, ABH has expanded to six locations across Maryland. The company offers a comprehensive approach to care that includes psychiatric services, counseling both on-site and off-site, therapeutic mentoring, and medication management. The new Hagerstown office is expected to create between 20 and 30 new jobs in the area.

The organization has been recognized for its supportive and innovative work environment, earning a spot on USA Today’s Top Workplaces list for 2025 and 2026. ABH employs a total of 250 team members across its statewide operations. Furthermore, ABH holds CARF accreditation, signifying adherence to international standards for quality and safety in its services. Among its specialized offerings is the Greater Maryland Youth (GMY) mentoring program, which provides tailored rehabilitation and skill-building activities designed to foster resilience and independence in children and adolescents.
