A structure fire occurred on July 10, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m. at 1002 Jefferson Boulevard in Hagerstown, Washington County. The incident, which involved a one-story family residence, resulted in two injuries. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the fire was discovered by an occupant of the home.

The fire, which was contained quickly, with control achieved upon the arrival of emergency services, originated in the kitchen area of the residence. Ten firefighters from the Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Department responded to the single-alarm incident. The estimated financial loss from the fire is relatively minor, with damages to the structure totaling $500 and contents amounting to $150. Notably, the residence did not have a functioning smoke alarm, and no fire alarm or sprinkler system was present.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
