Leesburg Police Arrest Man in Connection with February Hit-and-Run

Leesburg, VA – The Leesburg Police Department has apprehended and charged a Leesburg resident in connection with a hit-and-run pedestrian incident that occurred on Battlefield Parkway SE near Sycolin Road SE in February 2026. Following a thorough investigation, Alexei G. Fisher, 26, was arrested on June 12, 2026, and faces multiple charges.

The charges levied against Fisher include felony hit and run, violation of the Move Over Law, failure to report an accident, failure to yield to a pedestrian, and failure to pay full time and attention. He was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he was subsequently released on a $5,000 bond. The investigation involved locating and examining the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident, reviewing evidence, and acting on numerous tips provided by the public.

The incident under investigation initially occurred late on the evening of February 8, 2026. At approximately 10:55 p.m., the victim had stopped his vehicle in the middle lane of Battlefield Parkway SE at the Sycolin Road SE intersection due to observing smoke emanating from his car and subsequently exited the vehicle. While the victim was outside his car, he was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver of that vehicle did not stop and continued to travel southbound on Battlefield Parkway SE. Investigators at the time believed the vehicle involved might have been a gray Tesla. The Leesburg Police Department noted that other vehicles were traveling in the vicinity at the time of the crash, and drivers in those vehicles may have witnessed the event. The victim sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being released.

The Leesburg Police Department has expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the community throughout the investigation. The department highlighted that information shared by community members, particularly following the release of surveillance video, was instrumental in identifying the suspect and advancing the case.
