The AirPower History Tour will be open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission for individuals aged 12 and older is $25, with children under 12 admitted free. This admission fee grants access to the museum and all warbird tours. Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy cockpit tours of the B-29, and depending on the day, opportunities for flight experiences in various aircraft, including the P-51, R4D, PT-13, and T-6. Special flight opportunities for the B-29 are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday mornings, with cockpit tours opening to the public following these flights. A 1943 Fairchild PT-19, known as “Miss Fairchild,” will also be available for flight experience rides on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, for a donation of $200.
Beyond the visiting AirPower Tour aircraft, the Hagerstown Aviation Museum will showcase its own collection of historic Fairchild aircraft. This includes the A-10C Thunderbolt II “Warthog,” C-82, C-119 Flying Boxcar, C-123, F-27, and PT-19. Visitors can also view exhibits detailing the contributions of local individuals to the Hagerstown aviation industry, as well as the museum’s Fairchild RC-26B Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance aircraft and its Bell UH-1V Huey air ambulance helicopter. The museum’s physical location for this event is at 18450 Showalter Rd, Bldg 8, within the New Heights Industrial Park in Hagerstown, MD. Signage will be provided to guide attendees to parking and the entrance.
The Hagerstown Aviation Museum has several other events planned for the remainder of 2026. Aviation Adventure Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 18. This will be followed by Aviation Adventure Day/EAA Young Eagles on Saturday, August 15. Concluding the planned events is the Wings and Wheels Expo on Saturday, September 12. This expo will feature military and civilian aircraft, alongside cars, trucks, and fire trucks. The event will also include museum exhibits and offerings from local food vendors. Further details for these upcoming events can be found on the museum’s Facebook page and website. Donations to the Hagerstown Aviation Museum directly support its operations at the Fairchild Test Hangar and its community events.
