The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 254,000 units of Sloosh Dive Sticks due to a violation of the federal ban on dive sticks that exceed compression limits. These toys present a significant risk of serious injury from impalement, particularly for children in shallow water who may fall or land on them. The recalled dive sticks are part of the Sloosh water toys package, model 40041, and were sold by Joyin US Corp. of Chandler, Arizona.

The recalled dive sticks are cylinder-shaped, made of hard plastic, and measure approximately seven inches in length and one inch or less in diameter. They are available in various colors and are packaged with other pool diving toys under the Sloosh brand. The model number 40041 is printed on the back of the Sloosh water toys box near the barcode, and also on one end of the dive stick itself, along with Joyin’s name and tracking information. This recall specifically affects dive sticks contained within Sloosh water toys sold prior to October 23, 2025. Consumers are advised that the other items within the Sloosh water toys package are safe for use. The hazard arises because the dive sticks exceed the allowable compression limit, meaning they can cause severe piercing injuries if a child falls on them. Additionally, there is a risk of facial and eye injuries when children attempt to retrieve the sticks underwater. While no injuries have been reported to date, the CPSC emphasizes the potential for serious harm.
