Maryland residents have until the close of business on Thursday, June 18, to participate in in-person early voting for the upcoming Gubernatorial Primary Election. The Maryland State Board of Elections (SBE) is urging voters to take advantage of this opportunity, as it represents one of three distinct methods for casting a ballot in this election cycle.

Early voting centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Individuals who are in line to vote by 8 p.m. will be permitted to cast their ballot. So far in Washington County, over 1,000 more residents have turned out for early voting compared to 2022.

A comprehensive list of all early voting locations can be accessed on the SBE’s official website at vote.md.gov/vote2026. This website also serves as a central hub for information regarding all aspects of the primary election.

For those who have not yet registered to vote, the SBE is reminding citizens that same-day registration is an option. Individuals seeking to register and vote on the same day must present a document that verifies their residential address when they arrive at their designated early voting center or polling place on Primary Election Day. This requirement ensures the integrity of the voter registration process.

Beyond in-person early voting, Marylanders have additional avenues to cast their ballots. Mail-in voting is available for those who prefer to vote from home, and traditional in-person voting will be conducted on Primary Election Day, which falls on Tuesday, June 23. Voters are encouraged to familiarize themselves with all available voting methods and election timelines to ensure their participation. Further details and resources, including the Go Vote Maryland! mobile application, can be found on the SBE’s website.
