FREDERICK, MD – Two individuals have been arrested in Frederick following a traffic stop that resulted in the discovery of multiple controlled dangerous substances and two loaded handguns. According to a press release from the Frederick Police Department, the incident occurred on June 5, 2026, when officers initiated a traffic stop on East Patrick Street for a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit.

During the encounter, officers noted suspicious behavior from both occupants of the vehicle. A K9 unit from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office was deployed and alerted to the presence of controlled dangerous substances within the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the recovery of the firearms and a quantity of drugs, which authorities indicated were consistent with distribution.
