The aquatic center’s initial operating schedule begins on Memorial Day weekend, with the pool accessible to the public from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. from Saturday, May 23, through Monday, May 25. This preferential entry for residents aims to enhance their experience and provide extra enjoyment of the facility.

As Loudoun County Public Schools continue their academic year, the A.V. Symington Aquatic Center will operate on a limited schedule. From its opening through June 12, the pool will be open exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays. However, this schedule will expand significantly starting Saturday, June 13, when the aquatic center transitions to seven-day-a-week operation. During this extended period, weekend hours will remain from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., while weekday hours will be from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Town residents will continue to benefit from early admission privileges at 11 a.m. daily. A notable exception to the summer schedule is Saturday, July 4, when the outdoor pool will be closed.

The A.V. Symington Aquatic Center, situated within Ida Lee Park, offers a comprehensive suite of water-based attractions. Visitors can enjoy a 600-foot lazy river, a substantial slide tower equipped with two body flumes and a separate drop slide, and a 25-yard lap lane for those seeking exercise. For family fun, the center features two gang slides, water pipe falls, a crossing feature, dumping buckets, a “little squirt whale,” and a floating snake. Additionally, a large “beach” area with bubblers and water fountains provides a unique experience, complemented by a concession stand and a grass picnic area for guests to relax and dine. For more detailed information concerning operating hours, admission rates, season passes, and rental options, interested parties are encouraged to visit www.AVSAC.org or contact the Ida Lee Recreation Center directly at 703-777-1368.
