FREDERICK, Md. – A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on Monday, April 27, 2026, on northbound Route 85 near Spectrum Drive, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO). Upon their arrival, deputies determined that the incident involved a 2019 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2013 Honda passenger vehicle. The investigation indicates that the motorcycle, operated by 23-year-old Christoph Kenny of Ijamsville, rear-ended the Honda. As a result of the collision, Mr. Kenny was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained severe injuries. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by DFRS personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
