Effective June 1, both entities will operate from a new, centralized location within the North Pointe Business Center at 2593 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. This relocation aims to provide improved accessibility and greater cost-effectiveness for the county and its senior population.

The new site is situated approximately two miles from the current facility on Norland Avenue, strategically positioned along U.S. 11 north of Chambersburg Borough. The North Pointe Business Center offers the advantage of shared space for the agency’s administrative offices and the activity center, with the added benefit of being customizable to meet the specific needs of the county. For seniors who rely on public transportation, the new location remains accessible via rabbittransit, ensuring a continued connection to essential services. This move is also projected to yield substantial financial savings for Franklin County.
The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging is dedicated to providing a comprehensive program of supported services designed to enhance the independence, promote consumer choice, and improve the quality of life for individuals aged 60 and older. Priority is given to those with the greatest social and economic needs. The agency plays a vital role in overseeing the county’s eight senior activity centers, which offer a diverse range of social and educational programs, crafts, clubs, and health-related activities. Daily lunchtime meals are also available at these centers by reservation, with a small donation suggested.
During the transition period, operations at the current Norland Avenue location will proceed as usual. The Chambersburg Senior Activity Center will maintain its regular hours, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Similarly, the administrative offices will continue to serve the public Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Any temporary service disruptions that may occur during the move will be communicated in advance as information becomes available.
