The company, recognized as a certified woman-owned small business, is comprised of engineers and business strategists specializing in mission-critical systems engineering and strategic innovation. LufCo serves a diverse clientele, including the Department of Defense, various state and federal agencies, private sector companies, and nonprofit organizations. Their focus is on developing advanced technologies and tools to provide warfighters with a strategic advantage in evolving operational environments.
To support this expansion, the Maryland Department of Commerce is facilitating a $600,000 conditional loan through its Advantage Maryland program. Additionally, the Harford County Office of Economic Development is contributing a $60,000 grant to assist with essential infrastructure improvements at the new facility. LufCo is also eligible for state and local tax incentives, including the Job Creation Tax Credit and the Enterprise Zone Tax Credit, which may further offset project costs and encourage employment growth.
The expansion is expected to bolster Maryland’s innovation economy by bringing specialized skills in areas such as machine learning, cryptographic systems, and prototyping to the region. The state views this development as a strategic investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities. Harford County officials have expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its alignment with the county’s economic development goals. The modernization of an existing facility and the creation of highly skilled jobs are seen as foundational for future business growth in support of national defense initiatives.
Residents of Maryland, particularly those in the Aberdeen and greater Harford County area, may see increased employment opportunities in advanced manufacturing and technology sectors. The influx of new jobs and the company’s focus on defense-related technologies are anticipated to have a positive economic impact on the region.
