The first reported shooting occurred at approximately 10:35 p.m. on MD Route 5 at Allentown Road. A motorist in the area alerted authorities after their vehicle was hit by bullets. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident. Shortly thereafter, around 10:50 p.m., a second shooting took place on the ramp connecting northbound MD Route 5 to the outer loop of I-495/I-95. In this instance, a man reportedly emerged from a stationary vehicle on the shoulder and fired multiple shots at a passing vehicle. Again, no injuries were sustained. The third incident happened early this morning, just before 1:30 a.m., on southbound I-495/I-95 near Ardwick Ardmore Road. A driver reported being shot through their vehicle and subsequently sought treatment for their injuries at a local hospital.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, Highway Gun Crimes, and the Criminal Enforcement Division responded to all three scenes. Crime scene technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division also processed the locations for evidence. Officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department provided assistance at the scenes. Preliminary findings suggest that all three shootings are connected to the same individual.

Authorities are seeking information regarding a suspect described as an African American man wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt or top and light-colored pants. The suspect is believed to be operating a red or burgundy sedan, possibly a Dodge Challenger or Charger. The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information pertinent to this case is urged to contact the College Park Barrack at 301-345-3101. All calls will be kept confidential.
