Maryland State Police are currently investigating two separate fatal motor vehicle collisions that occurred on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on the evening of March 12, 2026. These incidents, which resulted in two fatalities and required extensive road closures, are being led by the Maryland State Police Crash Team.

The first incident occurred around 8:33 p.m. in Rhodesdale, Maryland, where troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack responded to a single-vehicle crash on Eldorado Road. Preliminary findings indicate that a Kia Sportage, driven by Brandi Stoneburner, 40, of Princess Anne, Maryland, was traveling southbound when it veered off the roadway. The vehicle subsequently struck an electrical box before overturning. Stoneburner, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation led to the closure of the roadway for over three hours.

Approximately three hours later, around 11:16 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack were dispatched to U.S. Route 301, north of Maryland Route 544, in Millington, Maryland, to investigate a two-vehicle collision. According to the initial investigation, a Chevrolet Traverse, operated by Drew Satterfield, 19, of Middletown, Delaware, and a Volkswagen GTI, driven by Easton Bryant, 22, of Chester, Maryland, were both traveling northbound on U.S. Route 301. The Volkswagen reportedly rear-ended the Chevrolet, causing the latter vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn into a wooded area. Investigators believe that excessive speed and potential impairment may have been contributing factors in this crash. Satterfield was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bryant sustained injuries and was transported by Maryland State Police Aviation Command’s Trooper 1 to a local trauma center for treatment. The investigation into this second collision resulted in the roadway being closed for more than two hours.

Further actions, including potential charges, are contingent upon the complete outcome of both investigations and consultation with the Office of the State’s Attorney in Queen Anne’s County. Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration were present at both crash sites to provide assistance with traffic management and road closures.

This ongoing investigation means that the circumstances surrounding these tragic events are still under examination. Residents and travelers on the Eastern Shore should be aware that official findings may lead to further legal proceedings.
