A federal grand jury in the Middle District of Pennsylvania has indicted Sharion Motley-Lipscomb, a 29-year-old resident of Cleveland, Ohio, on a charge of possessing contraband within a correctional facility. The indictment, handed down on March 10, 2026, alleges that Motley-Lipscomb, an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution Schuylkill, was found in possession of a prohibited item.
According to information from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the contraband in question is described as a weapon. Specifically, the indictment claims that on January 17, 2016, Motley-Lipscomb possessed a four-inch piece of plexiglass that had been sharpened to a point and fitted with a cloth handle. The incident reportedly occurred within Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The investigation into this matter was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Prisons and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney James M. Buchanan is handling the prosecution of the case. If convicted, Motley-Lipscomb faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison, followed by a period of supervised release, and a fine. It is important to note that indictments are formal accusations, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
