The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a significant recall affecting approximately 186,520 PQL High Bay Linear LED light fixtures. This recall, initiated on February 26, 2026, addresses a critical fire hazard stemming from a defect in the retaining pins that secure the LED board within the fixtures. The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately cease using these recalled light fixtures.

The issue arises when the retaining pins, designed to hold the LED board in place, degrade. This degradation can lead to the LED board becoming loose inside the fixture, creating a substantial risk of fire. While no injuries have been reported, PQL has received one account of a fixture catching fire, underscoring the severity of the hazard. The affected products are described as rectangular, white, metal fixtures available in 2-foot and 4-foot-wide configurations. Specific model numbers for both sizes are listed by the CPSC, and consumers are instructed to check the back of their fixtures for this information.

Consumers in possession of the recalled PQL High Bay Linear LED light fixtures are urged to take immediate action. The primary remedy offered is a free repair, with PQL providing replacement retaining pins. To initiate this process, consumers must contact PQL directly. They can reach the company toll-free at 805-416-5251 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. Alternatively, consumers can send an email to safety@pqlighting.com or visit the PQL website at https://pqlighting.com/product-recall-notice. Registration of the product at the provided recall notice link is also required.

These High Bay Linear LED light fixtures were sold nationwide at various retail locations, including LED Indy, Universal Lighting of America, Inc., and Independent Lighting. They were also available for purchase online. The sale period for these affected units spanned from January 2016 through June 2025, with prices ranging from $50 to $350 per fixture. The fixtures were manufactured by Jiangsu Ever-Tie Lighting Co., Ltd., of China, and imported by PQL, Inc., based in Simi Valley, California.

The recall number associated with this action is 26-278. The CPSC is responsible for protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury associated with consumer products. This recall highlights the agency’s role in identifying and addressing potential safety concerns to prevent harm to consumers. Consumers are encouraged to stay informed about product recalls by visiting CPSC.gov and signing up for email alerts. Reporting unsafe products or product-related injuries can also be done through the SaferProducts.gov portal.
