The Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, has unveiled its comprehensive schedule of programs for March 2026, offering a wide array of free educational and recreational activities for residents of all ages. For the youngest community members, the library presents “Littlest Explorers,” a lap-sit program designed for children under two years old and their parents, held every Monday in March at 11:00 AM. This program focuses on nursery rhymes, sensory play, and books, providing an opportunity for parents to connect while their infants explore. Toddlers and preschoolers aged two to five can participate in “Story Explorers” every Tuesday at 11:00 AM, which combines story time with play to foster a love of reading. Additionally, “Rhythm and Rhyme” offers a music and movement experience for children aged two to five every Thursday at 11:00 AM, encouraging singing, dancing, and exploration of musical instruments. “Little Builders,” a drop-in block and building playtime for children aged two to five and their caregivers, will be available every Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Preschoolers aged four to five have specific programs designed to prepare them for kindergarten. “PreK Explorers,” held every Wednesday at 11:00 AM, focuses on kindergarten readiness skills through storytime. Registration is required for this program.
The library is also rolling out a variety of engaging activities for school-aged children throughout March. “Kids 3D Printing,” held on the first Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM, introduces children in grades K-5 to the basics of 3D printing and design in the Makerspace. Registration is required. On the first Wednesday of the month at 4:00 PM, “Storytime with Miss Mary Anne” will feature master storyteller Mary Anne Stanley sharing stories, music, and activities for children in PreK through grade 5. “Simple Science,” taking place on the first Thursday of the month at 4:00 PM, invites K-5 graders to explore scientific principles and conduct experiments in the Makerspace; registration is required.
For those interested in building and design, “Lego Challenge” will be held on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM for grades K-5, offering new building challenges each time; registration is required. The Waynesboro Fire Department will join the library for “Storytime with WFD” on the second Wednesday of the month at 4:00 PM, where firefighters will share stories and lead a fun activity for PreK-5 students. “Slime Masters,” a popular program for grades K-5 that explores the science behind making various types of slime, is scheduled for the second Thursday of the month at 4:00 PM, requiring registration. The “STEAM Express” drop-in program, which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, will be available on the second Saturday of the month from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for grades K-5.
Further enriching the children’s programming, “Cardboard Engineers” will challenge K-5 students to create engineering projects from cardboard on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM, with registration needed. “Architecture,” a building challenge focused on architectural design for grades K-5, is set for the third Thursday of the month at 4:00 PM and requires registration. “Kids Coding,” aimed at introducing computing concepts to students in grades K-5 in a fun environment, will take place on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM, and registration is required. “Kindly Canines,” a unique program for PreK-5 students where children can practice reading aloud to therapy dogs, is scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM; registration is requested. “Kids Book Bingo,” offering a chance to win books, will be held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 4:00 PM for PreK-5 students. Finally, “Junior Art Adventures” will explore art techniques and create masterpieces for grades K-5 on the fourth Thursday of the month at 4:00 PM, requiring registration.
Teenagers are also catered to with two distinct monthly programs. The “Anime Club,” meeting on the second Wednesday of the month from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, is open to teens ages 12-18 who are interested in anime, manga, and Japanese culture. Activities include manga discussions, anime viewings, and related crafts. “Teen Game Night,” held on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, invites teens ages 12-18 to bring their favorite board games, card games, or participate in D&D and trivia. Both teen programs are free and do not require advance signup.
