The White House has announced the launch of TrumpRx.gov, a new government platform designed to provide Americans with access to significantly lower prices on numerous high-cost, brand-name prescription drugs. Per information from the White House, these reduced prices are the result of Most-Favored-Nation pricing agreements negotiated with major pharmaceutical manufacturers. These agreements are intended to align U.S. drug prices with those found in other developed nations, addressing what is described as decades of overpayment and offering immediate financial relief to consumers.

The TrumpRx.gov platform, effective immediately, will allow American patients, particularly those who incur substantial out-of-pocket expenses for medications not fully covered by insurance, to purchase dozens of essential drugs at considerably lower prices. The administration indicated that additional high-cost medications will be added to the platform on an ongoing basis as negotiations with pharmaceutical companies progress.
Among the notable savings highlighted are those for GLP-1 medications, identified as some of the highest-expenditure drugs in the United States. For instance, the monthly cost of Ozempic®, which was previously $1,028, is now available on TrumpRx.gov for an average of $350, with prices potentially as low as $199 depending on the dosage. Similarly, the injectable form of Wegovy®, previously priced at $1,349 per month, will now have an average price of $350, with some dosages as low as $199. The pill form of Wegovy® is also seeing a significant price reduction, dropping from $1,349 to as low as $149 per month, based on dosage. Zepbound®’s monthly price is reduced from $1,088 to an average of $346, with prices starting as low as $299.

The platform also aims to provide substantial savings for individuals undergoing fertility treatments, which are often paid for entirely out-of-pocket. Patients utilizing TrumpRx.gov for common fertility medications could see average savings of over $2,000 per treatment cycle. Specific examples include Gonal-F®, a widely used fertility drug, with prices falling to as low as $168 per pen, depending on dosage. Cetrotide®, another frequently used medication in fertility treatments, will be available for $22.50, a decrease from its previous price of $316. Ovidrel® will now cost $84, down from $251.
The launch of TrumpRx.gov is presented as the initial phase of a broader initiative. The administration stated its intention to incorporate more companies that have entered into Most-Favored-Nation agreements and to actively seek additional agreements to broaden the platform’s reach and enhance savings for Americans on a wider range of prescription drugs.
For individuals who obtain their prescription medications through insurance plans, President Trump has urged Congress to expedite the passage of his “Great Healthcare Plan.” This proposed reform aims to officially incorporate the savings generated by the Most-Favored-Nation agreements into insurance coverage. The plan also includes provisions for lowering insurance premiums, increasing accountability for insurance companies, promoting greater price transparency within the healthcare system, and ensuring that purchases made through TrumpRx.gov are eligible for coverage under health plans. The ultimate goal of this comprehensive reform, as outlined, is to ensure that all Americans can benefit from these significant reductions in drug costs.
