The fire, which was first reported in the early morning hours of October 30, 2025, prompted a response from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department. Upon arrival at the establishment located at 3242 Old Washington Road, emergency personnel discovered the front door had been forcibly entered and a fire was burning inside. The blaze was successfully contained by firefighters within approximately 40 minutes.
Subsequent investigation by Deputy State Fire Marshals revealed that the fire originated in the business’s humidor room. Evidence gathered at the scene indicated that the fire was intentionally set, leading investigators to rule the incident as arson. The damage to the structure was estimated at 25,000, with an additional 50,000 in losses to the contents of the lounge.

On January 13, 2026, Shawn Hill Justice, aged 37, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses including second-degree arson, first-degree malicious burning, second-degree burglary, and destruction of property exceeding $1,000. Ashley Elizabeth Ellis, 35, identified as an employee of Pasha Lounge, was arrested for conspiracy to commit second-degree arson and burglary.
During questioning following his arrest, Justice reportedly confessed to setting the fire at Pasha Lounge. He further stated that Ellis had encouraged his actions, provided him with access to the business, and assisted in the planning of the incident. Justice indicated that personal relationship issues were the motivation behind his involvement.
Both Justice and Ellis were transported to the Charles County Detention Center. Justice is currently being held without bond, while Ellis was released on her own recognizance.
