Per a press release from the Frederick Police Department, on December 5, 2025, officers responded to an armed robbery in the 1400 block of Taney Avenue. During the investigation, it was determined that the victim had gone to the residence the previous evening after being asked for a ride by a female acquaintance. Upon arrival at the apartment, the victim was confronted by three males. One of the individuals was armed with a handgun and proceeded to point the firearm at the victim multiple times. During the robbery, the suspect also struck the victim and stole money from his person. Additionally, the suspects forced the victim to transfer funds from his bank account using his cell phone.

Martin Daniel Williams was taken into custody at this address, and evidence connected to the robbery was recovered. Williams has been formally charged with one count of armed robbery, two counts of second-degree assault, and one count of theft, specifically for an amount between $100 and $1,500.
