The Washington County Board of Elections has announced the finalists for its “I Voted” sticker art contest, a creative initiative that invited students from kindergarten through 12th grade across public, private, and home schools to submit their designs. The contest, which concluded with a submission deadline of November 30, 2025, garnered 25 entries. Following the submission period, Board of Elections staff narrowed down the submissions to eight finalists, categorized into “Future Voter,” Elementary School “I Voted,” Middle School “I Voted,” and High School “I Voted.” Residents of Washington County will now have the opportunity to select the winning designs, which will be transformed into official “I Voted” stickers for the 2026 Primary and General Elections.

The public voting period is scheduled to commence on January 5, 2026, and will remain open until January 23, 2026. Each voter will be permitted to cast one vote per category. The winning artwork from each category will be professionally printed and distributed to voters throughout Washington County during the upcoming 2026 election cycles, allowing the community to directly influence the visual representation of civic participation.
A unique situation arose in the Middle School “I Voted” category, where only a single entry was received. This sole submission will automatically be declared the winner and will be announced alongside the other category victors after the public vote concludes. All interested individuals are encouraged to visit the Washington County Board of Elections website at https://www.washco-mdelections.org/i-voted-contest to view the selected finalists and cast their votes. The outcome of this contest will directly impact the stickers voters receive, offering a tangible connection between young artists and the electoral process.
