The convicted individual, Thaddeus Lamont Wills, 52, was found guilty by a federal jury of multiple charges following a nine-day trial. These convictions include conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery, two counts of interference with interstate commerce by robbery, and two counts of carjacking. The jury also found Wills guilty on three counts related to the use, carrying, and brandishing of a firearm during and in relation to violent crimes, with one count specifically addressing the murder that occurred as a result of discharging a firearm during one of these offenses.
Evidence presented at trial indicated that between November 12, 2020, and January 18, 2021, Wills and his accomplices engaged in a pattern of criminal activity. During this period, they used firearms to target four commercial establishments. In addition to the robberies, the group also carjacked victims, including customers of two of the businesses. The most severe consequence of these actions was the fatal shooting of a business owner during one of the robberies.
In connection with the same series of crimes, co-conspirator Keionta Hagens, 45, was also convicted by the jury. Hagens was found guilty of conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery, two counts of interference with interstate commerce by robbery, and one count of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. Hagens was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison on February 19, 2025.
Other individuals involved in the conspiracy have also faced legal proceedings. Quasean Reeves, 32, and Andron Wood, 41, both of Waldorf, Maryland, pleaded guilty to their roles in the offenses. They are scheduled for sentencing in January 2026.
The investigation and prosecution of this case were a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) – Baltimore Field Office, the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), and the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) all contributed to bringing Wills and his associates to justice.
