Approximately 2,290 youth all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) manufactured by Luyuan are being recalled due to significant safety violations that pose a risk of crash, serious injury, or death, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall affects the X-Pro Eagle 40cc Youth ATV and the FRP Sahara 40cc Youth ATV, sold online between April and September 2025. These ATVs have been found to violate mandatory safety standards for ATVs, specifically concerning their mechanical suspension, which can lead to a crash hazard. Additionally, the design of the handlebars presents a laceration risk if a child rider impacts them at high speeds.

The affected models include the X-Pro Eagle 40cc Youth ATV, Model CARTOONS, and the FRP Sahara 40cc Youth ATV, Model SHR 40-RED-M. Both models are available in various colors and can be identified by “X PRO” labels located on the sides of the plastic body for the X-Pro Eagle, or “FRP” labels on the front small plastic cover and the sides of the plastic body for the FRP Sahara. Consumers who purchased the X-Pro Eagle 40cc Youth ATVs from Walmart.com, Powersportsmax.com, and Xprousa.com for prices ranging from $480 to $500, or the FRP Sahara 40cc Youth ATVs from Amazon.com, Temu.com, and Frpmoto.com for prices between $460 and $480, should immediately stop using these vehicles. Luyuan Inc., the importer based in City of Industry, California, is offering a free repair for all affected ATVs through authorized repair shops.

While no incidents or injuries have been reported in relation to this specific recall, the CPSC emphasizes the inherent dangers of ATVs that do not meet mandatory safety requirements. The recall, designated as recall number 26-148, is a proactive measure to prevent potential harm to young riders. Consumers are urged to contact Luyuan directly at 855-663-2121 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday, or via email at luyuanusa@gmail.com for instructions on how to arrange the free repair. Further details and information can also be found on Luyuan’s website at http://www.luyuanusa.com by clicking the “Recall” link at the top of the page.
