The City of Hagerstown is preparing to illuminate City Park for the holiday season with its annual City Park Lighting event this Friday, December 5. According to a press release from the City of Hagerstown, the free festival will transform the historic park and lake into a festive wonderland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., featuring a variety of family-friendly activities and attractions.

The festivities, presented by F&M Trust, will include entertainment, music, food vendors, a petting zoo, a fire dancer, and a human-size snow globe. Attendees can gather near the Key Street Lake pavilion to witness the official lighting countdown at 7:00 p.m., officially commencing a month-long light spectacular throughout the park. A hospitality tent will offer free hot chocolate and doughnuts, while supplies last, courtesy of The Maryland Theatre.
Further enhancing the holiday spirit, the Mansion House will host the Valley Art Association, providing free photos with Santa Claus, along with giveaways and craft activities near the 911 Gazebo. The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will open its doors to display special exhibits and seasonal holiday fare.
Following the opening night, visitors can enjoy the synchronized light and music show each evening from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. until December 31. The light display is designed to synchronize with holiday music broadcast on 90.3 FM, allowing attendees to drive through the park and experience the dazzling spectacle.
