Western Maryland’s local history exploration series, “History Hub Hunters,” is undergoing a significant transformation and rebranding as “Mystery Hub Hunters,” with a new focus on unsolved crimes and enigmatic local events. The rebranded show is set to launch in January 2026 with a monthly video podcast, promising to delve into cold case investigations, unexplained occurrences, and missing persons reports. This shift signifies an expansion of the team’s investigative purview, moving beyond historical archives to address enduring questions that have lingered within communities for years.

The team behind the established “History Hub Hunters” series intends to leverage their passion for uncovering hidden truths by applying it to narratives that lack resolution. Each episode of “Mystery Hub Hunters” will meticulously examine detailed case files, presenting evidence and various theories to an audience of true crime aficionados and amateur sleuths. For cases originating within Western Maryland, the production intends to conduct on-site investigations, bringing viewers directly to the locations pertinent to each mystery, in the hope of uncovering fresh perspectives or potential new clues.

“This series will take all of our lessons learned with History Hub Hunters, combine them with the original concept for Beasts and Myths of Maryland (which never made it into post-production due to logistical challenges with the show format), and really expand the scope and capabilities of what we can do,” said Ken Buckler, president of Radio Free Hub City. “There’s going to be something for everyone, including true crime followers and paranormal aficionados. And yes, I promise we’ll still do an episode on the snallygaster!”

Producers of the series have underscored their dedication to maintaining thorough research practices and a commitment to respectful storytelling. The objective extends beyond merely recounting unresolved mysteries; the team aims to reawaken public interest, potentially generate new leads, and serve as a platform for victims and their families. The underlying belief is that every unsolved case and unexplained event represents a fragment of a larger narrative awaiting discovery. The forthcoming series is expected to blend investigative journalism with compelling storytelling, continuing the pursuit of truth that defined its predecessor. The January 2026 debut marks a new phase for the team, with aspirations to explore the unknown within Western Maryland and potentially broader regions. Further information regarding the show, including case files and future video releases, will be available at radiofreehubcity.com/unsolved/.
