The investigation, which commenced in January 2025, focused on Angula Llactas, with detectives gathering evidence indicating his involvement in the distribution of controlled dangerous substances, specifically cocaine and crack cocaine, within the Frederick County area. Following the accumulation of intelligence, law enforcement officials, in collaboration with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, obtained search and seizure warrants pertaining to Angula Llactas and his residence.

On November 25, 2025, a search warrant was executed at a property located in the 5000 block of Partners Court. During the search, officers discovered approximately 1,225.9 grams of cocaine, $2,599 in U.S. currency, and several pieces of high-end jewelry. The estimated street value of the seized cocaine exceeds $100,000. Axel Angula Llactas was apprehended at the scene and subsequently transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he is awaiting proceedings before a district court commissioner. He faces charges including possession of a large amount of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of crack cocaine.

This successful operation was a collaborative effort involving the Frederick Police Department, the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, operating under the umbrella of the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). Funding for this initiative was provided by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy (GOCPP) through a subaward.
