Downtown Hagerstown is set to come alive with creativity and culture on Saturday, November 8, 2025, as the Main Street program and Hagerstown Arts and Entertainment District host their second annual “2nd Saturday: Art Walk.” The free public event will run from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., offering a diverse range of activities and attractions spread throughout the city’s downtown businesses.

Attendees will have the opportunity to witness “Plein Air on Potomac,” where artists will set up easels on South Potomac Street to capture the urban landscape. This is an open invitation for artists to participate and showcase their work without prior registration. For those interested in local history, the “Founder’s Footsteps Walking Tour” will guide participants through downtown, retracing the steps of Hagerstown’s founder, Jonathan Hager.
The Washington County Free Library will feature a traditional German puppet show in the Quiet Room within the Teen Area on the first floor. Showtimes are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 3:45 p.m. The historic Maryland Theatre is also opening its doors for an open house, allowing the public to explore the venue.
Further artistic showcases include the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, presenting their fall musical theatre production, “Clue,” in their black box theater. Tickets are required for this event. At Eliza’s House, caricature artist Taurean Washington will be offering complimentary portraits. Visitors to Wertman Photography can view student artwork inspired by German culture.
The celebration continues with live music and special offerings at Hub City Brewery, featuring a traditional German band and a custom beer brewed in honor of Jonathan Hager from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rounding out the day, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra will perform its show, “Forged by Beethoven,” at The Maryland Theatre.
