On the morning of November 3, 2025, detectives from the FCSO executed search warrants at two locations within the Jefferson Place area. At a residence in the 5900 block of Jefferson Commons Way, a search of the property and associated vehicles yielded a rifle, a handgun, numerous magazines, ammunition, cannabis products, and U.S. currency. An 18-year-old, Benjamin Daniel Orellana Waltemath, was arrested at this location and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. Investigations revealed that Orellana Waltemath allegedly possessed a firearm on the grounds of Frederick High School in October 2025. He faces charges including illegal possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a firearm by a minor, handgun-related offenses, possession of a firearm without a serial number, illegal possession of ammunition, bringing a deadly weapon onto school property, and possession with intent to distribute cannabis.
Simultaneously, the Frederick Police Department’s Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 6100 block of Jefferson Pike. FCSO detectives conducted the subsequent search of this property and associated vehicles. During this search, a handgun with an obliterated serial number and ammunition were discovered and seized. Julius Carter Benjamin, 16 years old, is being charged as an adult in connection with the findings at this residence. He was arrested and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he is facing charges for possession of a firearm by a minor, altering a firearm’s identification number, and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cannabis.
The Frederick Police Department played a crucial role in this operation by executing one of the search warrants and collaborating with FCSO detectives throughout the investigation.
