Tempo USA has issued a recall for approximately 46,660 Ambiano electric pressure cookers due to a serious burn hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on October 9, 2025, citing reports of the pressure cooker lid being opened prematurely, leading to the expulsion of hot contents and subsequent burn injuries.

The recall specifically targets Ambiano electric pressure cookers with model numbers 93550 (KY-318B), 96775 (KY-318A), and 98527 (6L-PC). These units, available in six-quart or eight-quart capacities, feature the “Ambiano” brand name on the front and a permanent on-product label. The model number is also located on the bottom of the cooker. The affected pressure cookers were sold at ALDI retail stores across the United States between January 2016 and December 2019 for approximately $40.

Tempo International (USA) Inc., based in Aventura, Florida, is the importer of these recalled pressure cookers. The firm has received 11 reports detailing incidents where the cooker’s contents were expelled under pressure. Of these reports, eight indicate severe burn injuries to consumers.

Consumers are advised to immediately cease using the recalled pressure cookers. To receive a refund, customers have two options. They can return the intact pressure cooker to any ALDI store for a full refund. Alternatively, consumers can contact Tempo by emailing serviceusa@tempo.org with a photo of the pressure cooker showing the unplugged power cord cut and another photo clearly displaying the model number and date code. Further assistance can be obtained by contacting ALDI toll-free at 800-325-7894, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET, or by visiting aldi.us and navigating to the “Product Recalls” section.

This recall underscores the importance of following manufacturer instructions for pressure cooker use and ensuring that all safety mechanisms are functioning correctly before attempting to open the lid. Consumers who own these Ambiano pressure cookers should take prompt action to receive a refund and prevent potential injuries.
