LEESBURG, VA – The Leesburg Police Department is actively investigating an incident that occurred on Hancock Place Northeast last evening, shortly before 9 p.m., following reports of a gunshot. Responding officers discovered an adult female with a minor ear injury. The victim received medical attention at a local hospital and has since been released, though the exact cause of her injury is still under examination by investigators.

The incident appears to have originated at the Hancock Place playground, where a dispute involving several individuals took place. Witness accounts indicate that at least one shot was fired during this altercation. Following the initial response, officers conducted a thorough sweep of the surrounding area, gathered evidence from the scene, and interviewed potential witnesses. The Criminal Investigations Division of the Leesburg Police Department has taken the lead on this ongoing investigation.
