Thirteen years after the tragic death of Lamont George-Lee Ellis, the Frederick Police Department is renewing its appeal for public assistance in solving the 2012 homicide. September 30, 2025, marks the anniversary of Ellis’s death, and investigators are urging anyone who may possess information or was present on the night of the incident to come forward.

Ellis was fatally shot just before 2 a.m. on September 30, 2012, in the vicinity of Mullinix Alley in Frederick. Responding officers found Ellis unresponsive near the entrance to Mullinix Pool, having sustained a single gunshot wound. At the time of his death, Ellis was a father of three.
