According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sunbeam Products Inc. is voluntarily recalling approximately 1.29 million Oster French Door Countertop Ovens due to a burn hazard. The recall specifically impacts models TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDG, TSSTTVFDMAF, and TSSTTVFDDAF. These ovens have a spring-loaded bilateral door, constructed of glass with metal handles, and the model number can be found on a label on the backside of the unit or on its original packaging. The four affected models vary in their cooking functions, such as air frying, and control types, including analog dials or digital push-button interfaces. The “Oster” brand name is engraved on the lower right front of the ovens.

The hazard identified in this recall is the oven doors’ tendency to close unexpectedly. This malfunction poses a significant burn risk to consumers when they are reaching into or interacting with the appliance. Sunbeam Products has documented 95 instances where the doors closed prematurely, leading to consumer injuries. Among these reports, two individuals sustained second-degree burns. The ovens were sold nationwide at various retailers, including Bed Bath and Beyond, Costco, and Walmart, as well as online through Amazon.com and Overstock.com. Sales occurred between August 2015 and July 2025, with prices ranging from $140 to $250.

Consumers who own one of the recalled Oster French Door Countertop Ovens are advised to immediately cease using the appliance. To address the safety issue, Sunbeam Products is offering a free repair kit. This kit includes a clip-on device designed to enhance the door’s stability and prevent accidental closure when the oven is open. Instructions for installation, along with a QR code linking to a video tutorial, will also be provided. The repair kit is designed for tool-free installation. Consumers can contact Sunbeam Products Inc. for further information and to obtain their repair kit by calling 800-334-0759, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET. Additionally, consumers can find more details and initiate the recall process by visiting recall.oster.com or http://www.oster.com and navigating to the “Product Recalls” section.
