The traffic stop was initiated around 8:01 p.m. by a trooper from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack on U.S. Route 50, also known as Ocean Gateway, near Lomax Street. The trooper reportedly stopped the Chevrolet pickup truck, operated by Lanham, due to indicators of impaired driving. During the course of the stop, the trooper observed additional concerning signs. This led to a search that resulted in the discovery of two loaded handguns and the suspected controlled substances.
Lanham faces a series of charges, including two counts of possessing a loaded handgun in a vehicle, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He is also facing several other firearms-related violations. In addition to the criminal charges, Lanham was issued multiple traffic citations. These include charges related to suspected driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and other traffic offenses.
Following his arrest at the scene, which was conducted without incident, Lanham was transported to the Talbot County Department of Corrections. He is currently being held without bond. The Maryland State Police have indicated that the investigation into this matter is still active and ongoing.
