The month kicks off on Saturday, September 20th, with the 8th Annual Recovery Walk commencing at 10:00 AM in Meritus Park. This event will feature Ryan Leaf, CEO of RAM Consultant, Inc. and a well-known sports analyst, as the speaker. Later that day, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Hagerstown City Park will host the City Park Fall Fest. Attendees can enjoy food, vendors, and music, with a fireworks display over the lake scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM. Also on September 20th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Hagerstown City Park will come alive with the 10th Annual South End Community Block Party. This free admission event promises local resource vendors, train and pony rides, character meet-and-greets, games for all ages, laser tag, and live music by the Chuck Brown Band. Food will be available for purchase at the block party.
Also on Saturday, September 20th, Hub City Brewery will host Paws & Pints from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This dog-friendly event offers live music, local vendors, canine activities, food, brews, and treats for both humans and their pets. Admission is free, and the event serves as a fundraiser to support animal welfare. The following weekend, the City Farmers Market will take place at Hub City Brewery on Sunday, September 21st, from noon to 4:00 PM. Residents can shop for fresh produce, baked goods, and items from artisan vendors.
The final weekend of September will feature a trio of events in Downtown Hagerstown. On Friday, September 26th, the Alsatia Club will host Thunder in the Square from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This car show has a registration fee of $10 on the night of the event and will include food and live music. Concurrently, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, University Plaza will present Music in the Plaza, a free admission event featuring the band Guys in Thin Ties performing 1980s music. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, and the Alsatia Club will be serving food in the square. The month concludes with the final City Farmers Market of the year at Hub City Brewery on Sunday, September 28th, from noon to 4:00 PM, offering local produce, baked goods, and artisan crafts.
