The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a warning to consumers to immediately cease using Wisekiddy Multi-Purpose Helmets and FunFitX toddler bike helmets. These products have been found to violate mandatory safety standards for bicycle helmets, specifically concerning impact attenuation, positional stability, certification, and labeling requirements. The commission states that these helmets could fail to adequately protect users during a crash, presenting a significant risk of serious head injury or even death.

Approximately 19,100 Wisekiddy helmets were sold online via Amazon between October 2023 and April 2025, with prices ranging from $27 to $35. These helmets were available in small (fitting head circumferences of 18.9 to 21.3 inches) and medium (fitting 21.3 to 22.8 inches) sizes. They are characterized by a pink and purple color scheme, black padding and straps, and a black and red buckle. A red plastic knob at the rear is used for fit adjustment. Specific model numbers are listed for size small (e.g., HW0023-TIE-PIN) and size medium (e.g., HW0023-TIE-PIN-M), though other color variations including black, blue, pink, purple, multi-colored pink/yellow/blue, purple/blue, and rainbow have also been identified.
In addition to the Wisekiddy helmets, the CPSC also issued a warning for approximately 85 FunFitX toddler bike helmets. These were sold on Amazon from April 2025 through June 2025. The FunFitX helmets are described as extra-small (XS), fitting head circumferences of approximately 19 to 21 inches. They feature a baby blue color with a sea life theme, red padding, black straps, and a black buckle with a red chin pad. A black plastic knob at the back assists with fit adjustment, and the model number “SL712” is printed on an internal label.
The CPSC has issued Notices of Violation to the respective sellers of these helmets. Guangzhoushi Aiselun Keji Youxiangongsi, doing business as Wisekiddy and located in China, has not agreed to recall the Wisekiddy helmets or provide any remedies to consumers. Similarly, the importer Hongkong Aak Trading Ltd. of China, and the ultimate consignee Rugut Trading, Inc. of Fontana, California, have not agreed to recall the FunFitX helmets or offer consumer remedies.
Consumers are strongly advised to immediately stop using both Wisekiddy and FunFitX helmets. The CPSC recommends destroying these hazardous helmets by cutting the straps and disposing of them properly. The agency also cautions against selling or donating these helmets, as this would continue to expose others to the risks. For those who have experienced a safety incident or product defect related to these helmets, reporting is encouraged through the SaferProducts.gov website.
