A Morgantown, West Virginia, man has been sentenced to an additional year in federal prison for failing to report to serve a previous sentence. James Mansfield Davis, 68, was ordered to begin an 82-month sentence for a child pornography conviction in the Northern District of West Virginia.

Davis was scheduled to report to federal prison on October 4, 2024, but did not. He was apprehended by authorities on October 15 in Williamsburg, Virginia. Following the completion of his new 12-month prison term, Davis will be subject to three years of supervised release. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Cogar and investigated by the United States Marshals Service. Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the sentencing.
