The seizure took place on July 22 when the suspect, driving a 2008 Saturn Vue, was referred for secondary inspection at the Progreso/Donna Port of Entry. Officers used canine units and nonintrusive inspection systems during the process, which led to the discovery of 84 packages containing a total of 89.90 pounds of alleged methamphetamine.

CBP officials valued the narcotics at $803,692. The meth was confiscated along with the vehicle, and the driver was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations agents, who have opened a criminal investigation.
