Frederick officials are asking residents, visitors, and workers to take part in a public survey to evaluate how well the city supports bicyclists. The city is seeking diverse feedback to better understand current biking conditions, identify problem areas, and plan future improvements. While the League conducts its formal review of the application, local officials are encouraging broad participation in the survey, regardless of biking frequency or experience. The results will influence both national designation and local transportation planning decisions that could affect road safety, traffic flow, and infrastructure investments.
The survey is part of Frederick’s broader effort to improve mobility options and reduce traffic congestion. If successful in earning Silver status, Frederick could become more competitive for future transportation grants and state-level funding aimed at enhancing bike infrastructure. These improvements could include safer bike lanes, more signage, and expanded connectivity for cyclists across the city.

Frederick’s Transportation Planning Department hopes the community will help shape the future of biking in the city by participating in the survey. It is accessible online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/BFC_2025 and takes only a few minutes to complete.
