The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of approximately 49,000 units after it was discovered the main power switch can fail, causing the tools to keep running even after being turned off. An additional 3,000 units were sold in Canada.

No injuries have been reported so far, but the continued operation of these saws after users release the power switch creates a significant laceration hazard. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled tools immediately and contact the importer, Positec Tool Corporation, for a free return label and replacement unit. Returns will be processed at no charge, and the company will provide replacement saws upon receipt of the defective products.
The recall was issued as part of the CPSC’s fast-track program, aimed at addressing safety concerns promptly and efficiently. It is illegal to resell or distribute any of the affected products. Residents can check product details and initiate a return through Positec’s dedicated recall portal at www.worx.com/chainsaw-recall or by calling their support line.
