The CBP Home Mobile App, which is available for free on both Apple and Android devices, offers eligible individuals the opportunity to avoid detention by arranging their own return travel through an app-based system. With the addition of Chinese and Hindi, the app can now reach even more users who may not be proficient in English or Spanish. The program provides several incentives, including free travel to the individual’s country of origin or a third country where they have lawful status, forgiveness of civil fines, and a $1,000 departure bonus.

The initiative is aimed at reducing costs for taxpayers by decreasing the number of forced removals and minimizing detention space usage.

To participate, users must download the CBP Home Mobile App via the Apple App Store, Google Play, or directly from DHS.gov. Additional information is available on the agency’s website.
