Residents of Juniata County should be aware that a local man is facing serious federal charges that could impact public safety in the region. A Mifflintown resident has been indicted for alleged drug trafficking and firearms offenses, including possession of substantial quantities of cocaine and illegal possession of firearms as a convicted felon.

Larry L. Grove, Jr., 36, was indicted on June 18 by a federal grand jury in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. The eight-count indictment includes six charges related to the distribution of cocaine and methamphetamine over a five-month period ending in May 2025. Prosecutors allege that Grove was in possession of more than 500 grams of cocaine and quantities of marijuana with the intent to distribute, in addition to possessing firearms illegally due to a prior felony conviction.

The case was developed through a joint investigation led by the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police Troop G VICE Unit, and the Mifflin County Drug Task Force. The charges against Grove fall under the scope of Operation Take Back America, a federal initiative aimed at dismantling drug cartels and reducing violent crime by enhancing coordination among law enforcement agencies.

If convicted, Grove could face up to 40 years in federal prison, along with supervised release and monetary fines. Sentencing will depend on federal guidelines and judicial discretion following a potential conviction.
