The recall affects the AstroAI 4-liter/6-can models, identified by model number “LY0204A” and serial numbers starting with 19, 20, 21, 2201, 2202, or 2203. These compact refrigerators, widely sold online via Amazon and AstroAI’s website, were marketed in multiple colors and popular among consumers looking for portable cooling solutions for skincare, drinks, or travel. However, a defect in the electrical switch has been found to cause short circuits, posing fire and burn hazards. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has logged at least 70 incidents of smoking, melting, or fire.

AstroAI is offering free replacements to anyone affected. Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled fridge and contact the company through its recall website or by email. A photo of the unit showing its model and serial number, marked with the word “Recalled,” is required to qualify for a replacement. Units should be discarded in accordance with local waste disposal regulations. No injuries have been reported, but given the fire damage already documented, affected users are strongly advised to act promptly.
