Heavy rains and strong winds have left a trail of destruction in various parts of the state, reinforcing the importance of having adequate homeowners, renters, flood, and vehicle insurance. This month also highlights several awareness initiatives relevant to Marylanders. June marks Pride Month, Juneteenth, Men’s Health Month, and National Camping Month, with each carrying unique insurance considerations. Whether it’s health coverage for LGBTQIA+ residents, preventive screenings for men, or ensuring RV insurance while glamping, the MIA offers resources to help families and individuals stay protected.
New graduates and new dads are also encouraged to evaluate their insurance needs as they enter new life stages. Life insurance, annuities, and health plans may need updating to reflect recent milestones. The MIA has also marked World Elder Abuse Awareness Day by sharing guidance to help older adults avoid fraud, identity theft, and abuse.
