Federal authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of four individuals who escaped from a New Jersey immigration detention facility, raising public safety concerns in the Newark area. The escape occurred on June 12 at Delaney Hall, a privately operated detention center in Newark. Federal officials say the facility continues to function without major unrest, despite ongoing media speculation. Delaney Hall provides services such as 24-hour medical care, access to legal resources, family visitation, and religious accommodations. DHS confirmed that a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert has been issued to law enforcement nationwide.
The fugitives include Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes, arrested in Wayne Township for multiple violent offenses; Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez, arrested in Passaic for handgun possession and aggravated assault; Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada, arrested in Hammonton for burglary and theft; and Andres Pineda-Mogollon, previously arrested in both New York and Union, NJ, for larceny and residential burglary. All four entered the U.S. illegally under the Biden administration or overstayed visas, according to federal authorities.

Officials stress that these individuals are considered threats to public safety. The DHS encourages anyone with information on their whereabouts to call 911 or the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tip line at 866-347-2423. The tip line operates 24 hours and accepts anonymous reports of suspicious activity tied to illegal immigration, including gang activity and trafficking. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has pledged additional resources to support this effort.
