Federal authorities allege that Garduno-Galvez threw a Molotov cocktail at law enforcement officers amid the unrest. Following an investigation, ICE agents located and arrested him on June 9. He was formally charged with attempted murder later that evening.
Garduno-Galvez has a documented criminal history in California. In 2024, he was arrested twice—once by the Anaheim Police Department for grand theft and once by the Long Beach Police Department for driving under the influence. Following these incidents, he was removed from the United States. His re-entry into the country and subsequent actions have now led to serious federal charges.
