Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 30,679 Lincoln Nautilus SUVs from the 2024 model year, citing a software defect that could cause critical display screens to reboot while the vehicle is in operation. This malfunction results in blank screens, disabling vital controls and indicators, and may also interfere with the rear-view camera display, posing a significant safety risk.

The defect originates from faults in the multimedia module’s software, affecting vehicles equipped with In Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) software versions 1.0.5 or 1.0.7. If the displays fail, drivers could lose access to important information, including speed, fuel levels, and system warnings, in addition to rear visibility when reversing. Such losses increase the likelihood of crashes. No advance warning signs are associated with the defect, and Ford has reported no accidents or injuries linked to the issue so far.
An updated version of the Phoenix IVI module software, version 1.1.3.2, has been identified as resolving the issue. Ford began distributing the corrected software through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates in October 2024, and customers can also opt for a free update at Ford or Lincoln dealerships.

The recall follows an internal investigation that began after reports surfaced from South Korea in March 2025, highlighting a trend of screen failures in the affected vehicles. Ford’s review found 1,129 warranty claims associated with the condition but no confirmed incidents involving crashes or injuries. Notification letters to affected owners are scheduled for mailing between June 16 and June 20, 2025, and the company will enable VIN-based searches for the recall beginning May 29, 2025.
