A new Civil War exhibit featuring more than 300 artifacts is now on display at the Thomas Balch Library in Leesburg, Virginia. The collection, assembled by local resident John Creamer, offers a rare glimpse into the region’s Civil War history and will remain available for public viewing through the months of June and July.

The exhibit is located in the library’s Mercer Room and showcases items such as belt buckles, rifles, artillery pieces, and currency. Many of the artifacts were discovered in Leesburg and throughout Loudoun County, with several linked to the Battle of Ball’s Bluff, a significant early conflict during the war. Creamer indicated that much of the collection was recovered from local construction sites, notably areas like Potomac Crossing and land near the former Walmart off Edwards Ferry Road.
