A recent immigration enforcement operation led by federal authorities resulted in the arrest of 72 illegal aliens at a nightclub suspected of cartel ties near Charleston, South Carolina. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the weekend operation targeted “The Alamo,” an underground venue allegedly operated by a member of the Los Zetas Cartel, now officially known as Cártel del Noreste (CDN). The group had been designated a terrorist organization by the Trump Administration earlier this year.

The investigation was initiated after officials received intelligence suggesting that the nightclub was involved in illicit activities, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, and illegal weapons possession. During the operation, law enforcement agents executed a search warrant, leading to the seizure of narcotics, cash, and firearms. Six juveniles were also recovered from the premises and placed in the care of state social services for their protection.
Among those arrested was Sergio Joel Galo-Baca, a Honduran national who is the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice for homicide charges in Honduras. Authorities confirmed that Galo-Baca was residing in the United States illegally at the time of his arrest. The broader sweep included individuals with previous criminal histories, and processing of all those arrested is ongoing.

The action took place on June 1 and is part of a broader strategy to dismantle criminal networks operating within the United States. DHS emphasized that public cooperation remains critical, urging individuals to report suspicious activities through their designated tip lines.
