Consumers are being warned to immediately cease use of Kmaier-branded infant swings due to serious safety concerns, according to a new alert issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The swings, which violate multiple federal safety regulations, pose a risk of suffocation and serious injury or death to infants.

The CPSC reports that the Kmaier infant swings were marketed for sleep and feature an incline greater than 10 degrees, contravening the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. This design creates an unsafe sleeping environment for infants. Further compounding the issue, the swings’ remote controls contain lithium coin batteries but lack the warning labels mandated by Reese’s Law, increasing the danger if a battery is accidentally swallowed.

The swings were sold on Amazon.com and possibly other online marketplaces between January 2023 and December 2024. They were available in yellow, gray, pink, and blue, and included a round black aluminum base, cloth seat with restraints, headrest, canopy with toys, and a remote control. These products were priced from $70 to $800 and were manufactured in China by Guang Zhou Wei Chen Ke Ji You Xian Gong Si, operating as Eacofy. Despite a Notice of Violation from the CPSC, the company has not initiated a recall or offered remedies to consumers.

CPSC advises consumers to stop using the swings immediately and to dispose of both the swings and remote control batteries following local hazardous waste guidelines. They caution against selling or giving away the products. Parents and caregivers are also reminded that the safest sleeping environment for infants is a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet, or play yard, free of any loose bedding or padded accessories. Any sleep in inclined products should be avoided.

Consumers are encouraged to report any related injuries or safety incidents to the CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.
