A submersible LED light sold online is being pulled from the market after regulators flagged it as a serious safety risk. NICREW’s 15-inch Submersible RGB LED Light, sold on Amazon between May and August 2024, includes a remote control powered by a coin battery that is easily accessible to children. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the issue centers on the product’s failure to meet federal regulations designed to prevent battery ingestion, a known cause of internal burns and potentially fatal injuries in children. The remote control, which operates the light, uses a CR2032 lithium coin battery that can be removed without tools or safeguards. Additionally, the product lacks the legally required safety warnings that alert consumers to these hazards.

While there have been no reported injuries or incidents linked to the recalled light, consumers are urged to act immediately. NICREW advises users to stop using the light, remove the coin battery from the remote, and store it out of children’s reach. To receive a free replacement remote and instructions for proper disposal, customers must send their Amazon order number and a photo confirming destruction of the original remote to the company by email.
